There is a famous palace by the name of La Granja de San Ildefonso in the Spanish town of San Ildefonso. It is a royal palace that was constructed in the eighteenth century. This town is located at a distance of only 80 kilometers from Madrid towards Segovia. The beauty of this palace is that it is located on the hills. The Spain square is the English name of Plaza de Espana. This square is located in the Parque de Maria Luisa in Seville, Spain. The Gastronomy in the Balearic Islands

Unique Fiestas Celebrated in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza
Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are the bigger islands of Balearic Islands. Each island sports its own ceremonial dances and music which are fast becoming a dying art if it is not handed down to the next generation of Balearic Islands.

The largest of Balearic Islands is Menorca; over 500 historical findings were discovered over a long span of time to have this island nicknamed ‘the open air museum on pre-historical treasures’. There are many exquisite monumental stone constructions found in Menorca that had been used in ancient ritual ceremonies; these include Talayots, Navetas and Taulas.
One of the important ancient monuments in Menorca is the Asentamiento de Trepucó which is located about 2 kilometers away from Mahón, the capital of Menorca. The Talayot de Trebaluger is located somewhere near Villacarlos while the Naveta des Tudoms is situated near Ciutadela. These historical monuments are the largest pre-historical monuments that have been well conserved for public display.
In Mallorca, one can find the interesting Talayot de Sa Canova while the remains of several ancient settlements could be located to identify the past inhabitants of Balearic Islands. These ancient settlements include Capocorb Vell, Claper dels Gegants and Ses Paises.

The historical monuments are the results of the impact from the various diverse cultures from the Phoenicians, Moors, Greeks, Carthagineans, Romans, Byzanthinians and Christian Re-Conquest groups. Jaime I from Aragon kingdom conquered Mallorca in 1229. He bequeathed Mallorca to Jaime II his son to be established as a separate kingdom but the island became part of Aragon in 1243.
Menorca also came under the Aragon kingdom in 1231. There were frequent pirate attacks on the island which accounted for the numerous fortifications still standing. Menorca was presented to the British during the 18th century under the Utrecht treaty. One can view the distinct British architectural style in Mahón.
However, the French dominated Menorca for a short while before a return to Spain in 1802 through the Amiens treaty.
